Overwatch Season 2 is here, bringing a litany of changes to the Blizzard hero shooter along with it.
Below is a breakdown of the biggest aspects of the April 14 Overwatch update. These include a long list of Hero balance changes, a new DPS Hero named Sierra, Stadium Changes, and much more.
- Season 2 overview:
Adds new hero
Sierra, a new event (Operation: Grand Mesa), Antarctic Peninsula rework, new map (Lijiang Night Market), cosmetics, and Battle Pass content.
- Operation: Grand Mesa event:
A 3-week story-driven event (Apr 14–May 12) with tiered challenges, lore unlocks, and rewards tied to Sierra.
- Event rewards & activities:
Includes loot boxes, Battle Pass skips, cosmetics for Sierra, and the return of Junkrat’s Loot Hunt mini-event.
- Post-Match Accolades return:
MVP voting, endorsements, hero stat highlights, and optional voice chat added to post-game screens.
- Map voting improvements:
New/reworked map bonuses, random map option, landslide wins, better matchmaking variety, and clearer role/map info.
