Overwatch currently has 45 heroes in its roster, and its newest short film may have given us our best clue yet about why the game’s next new Hero could be Anran. Here’s more about “The Invitation” and the potential Hero 46 teased in it.

Anran was first teased back in August of 2025 in a short film alongside Wuyang, and has been featured yet again in the latest Overwatch 2 short film, The Invitation.
With these references in such close proximity, we can begin to assume that Anran Ye might be the 46th Hero coming to Overwatch 2, and the game’s next new Hero. However, right now this is unconfirmed from developers.
So far, we don’t know much about Anran outside of their name, their fiery fans, and some leaked voice lines, which may further suggest their potential addition to the game.
But, as more information comes out about this Hero will report more in earnest about their potential as the newest Hero in OW2. Stay tuned!
