The 2026 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Germie Bernard NFL Draft Profile.
Position: Wide Receiver
School: Alabama
Size: 6-foot-1 inches, 206 pounds
Class: Senior
2025 stats: 64 receptions, 862 receiving yards, 13.5 yards per reception, 7 touchdown catches
Bernard was a four-star recruit in the class of 2022, who signed with Michigan State out of Nevada. He played sparingly as a freshman, catching seven passes for 128 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Following the season he transferred to Washington. In one season with the Huskies, he hauled in 34 passes for 419 yards and two touchdowns. He followed head coach Kalen DeBoer to Alabama the next season. For the 2024 season, Bernard had 50 catches for 794 yards and two touchdowns. His play helped Alabama win nine games. In 2025, he registered 64 receptions for 862 yards and seven touchdowns. He led the Crimson Tide to an 11-win season and a victory in the CFP.
Following the season, Bernard has been preparing for the 2026 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a day two pick.
Bernard has solid size for an NFL wide receiver. He measured in at 6-foot-1 and 206 pounds at the NFL Combine, which will make him fit right in as an NFL receiver. Bernard has solid play strength for the position as well. While his arms measured in shorter than expected, his size overall for the position is solid.
He has some of the best hands in the class. Bernard only had one drop last season for Alabama, which is great given how much he produced. He tracks the ball into his hands well with good focus. Bernard is decent at making contested catches. He is able to pluck the ball out of the air when it is off of his frame.
While he isn’t the most elusive, Bernard is solid at picking up yards after the catch. He has good quickness and ok top speed, which help him. Bernard has good vision in the open field and runs to open space. While he won’t juke that many players, he can take a short catch and pick up extra yardage consistently.
While he can find the soft spot vs zone, Bernard needs to work on his routes to separate from man coverage better. He has the potential to get in and out of his breaks well, but he doesn’t do it consistently. Bernard tends to round off routes, which allows corners to keep up with him more easily. More detailed route-running is possible for Bernard.
He has ok speed, but isn’t used as a deep threat or as a player that stretches the field well. Bernard does most of his damage on routes that are underneath or in the intermediate area of the field. He won’t be able to separate consistently vertically so defenses may sit on his routes that are shorter.
While he tested well at the NFL Combine, not all of that shows up on tape. Some of the athleticism is there, but his speed was 4.48 seconds during the 40-yard dash. He doesn’t show that kind of speed on the field. Bernard will need to play more up to his testing numbers at the next level.
Projected Draft Range: Second Round Pick-Third Round Pick
Draft Grade: Second Round Pick
