The 2026 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Emmanuel McNeil-Warren NFL Draft Profile.
Position: Safety
School: Toledo

McNeil-Warren was a three-star recruit who signed with Toledo out of Florida in the class of 2022. He didn’t play much in his first season, as he had just seven total tackles. His role increased in 2022, as he registered 69 total tackles, two interceptions and three passes defended. He helped the team win 11 games that season. In 2024, McNeil-Warren tallied 61 tackles, one interception and five passes defended. Toledo won eight games with McNeil-Warren’s aid. This season, McNeil-Warren totaled 77 tackles, two interceptions and five passes defended. He led the Rockets to another eight-win season.
Following the season, McNeil-Warren has been preparing for the 2026 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a first or second-round pick.
McNeil-Warren has good measurables for an NFL safety. He measured in at over 6-foot-3 and 201 pounds, which gives him a good frame to start his career. McNeil-Warren can add play strength and fill out his frame a bit more. He had solid length that measured over 32 inches, which helps his tackle radius and ability to make plays on the ball.
His run defense is great as he is most comfortable playing in the box. He can diagnose decently, but sometimes is a step slow. Where he makes up for this is with his capability to shed blocks or slip them. He shows good pursuit and is able to make tackles on ball carriers. McNeil-Warren can lay down big hits and make good form tackles.
Zone coverage that is nearer to the line of scrimmage fits his niche. He has been good in the robber role and similar coverages. McNeil-Warren has nice eye balance in zone and can read where quarterbacks might go with the ball. He closes down on the ball quickly, with the ability to make plays on the ball or lay devastating hits down.
While he is a good athlete in other areas, his speed isn’t the best for the position. He ran a 4.52 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine, but that speed doesn’t show up on tape. It showed up when he played against better competition and NFL teams may be able to exploit him a bit.
Man coverage, specifically against wide receivers and shiftier players, gives him trouble. McNeil-Warren has some tight hips, which makes it hard to transition and match the breaks that receivers make. Receivers can get separation during their breaks, but they can also separate vertically down the field as well.
He isn’t the greatest when asked to be in deep zone coverage. Whether he is the single-high safety or his split safety, McNeil-Warren doesn’t always have the range to go and make plays. He can be used sparingly as a split safety, but he’ll need to make sure he is seeing the field clearly to make a big impact. McNeil-Warren is more comfortable playing in the box than deep.
Projected Draft Range: First Round Pick-Second Round Pick
