The 2026 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Elijah Sarratt NFL Draft Profile.
Position: Wide Receiver
School: Indiana
Size: 6-foot-2 1/2 inches, 210 pounds
Class: Senior
2025 stats: 65 receptions, 830 receiving yards, 12.8 yards per reception, 15 touchdown catches
Sarratt was an unranked recruit from Maryland who signed with St. Francis in the class of 2022. He immediately made an impact with the Red Flash, hauling in 42 passes for 700 yards and 13 touchdowns. Following the season, he transferred to James Madison, where he really broke out with 82 receptions for 1,191 yards and eight touchdowns. He followed head coach Curt Cignetti to Indiana for the 2024 season. That year, Sarratt adjusted well to the better competition with 53 catches for 957 yards and eight touchdowns. He helped Indiana make the CFP. In 2025, he missed two games, but still caught 65 passes for 830 yards and 15 touchdowns. He led the Hoosiers to a national championship to cap off his college career.
Following the national championship, Sarratt has been preparing for the 2026 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a day two pick.
Sarratt has good size for an NFL receiver. He measured at over 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds, giving him a nice, filled-out frame. With his size, he has good play strength for the position. He has decent arm length that measures over 31 inches. His reach gives him a good catch radius, which can make him hard to match up with.
He has a nose for the end zone as one of the best red zone targets in the class. Sarratt scored 31 touchdowns over the last three seasons and most of them came when his team was close to the goal line. He specializes in making back shoulder catches, as he uses his size well and understands leverage, which helps him in the red zone. Sarratt shields the ball from the defender and is able to haul it in.
His hands are also great, as he is one of the better possession receivers in the class. Last season, Sarratt only had three drops. He does a good job of keeping his focus on routine plays. Sarratt also makes contested catches, as he can use his size and doesn’t care if he is going to get hit. He can make catches off his frame as well, making him a quarterback-friendly target.
Sarratt’s route-running will need some more work, as he wins a lot on contested catches rather than his ability to separate. He struggles to get in and out of his breaks quickly and corners with loose hips can keep up with him. Sarratt can round off routes as well. He will need to work on his releases at the line of scrimmage as well.
He won’t impress with his ability to pick up yards after the catch. Sarratt isn’t the greatest athlete for the position and should be seen more as a friendly, possession receiver rather than someone who will make people miss or pick up yardage with the ball in his hands.
His athleticism and overall speed won’t be league average in a few ways. He doesn’t have great quickness at the start of plays and also isn’t the most agile. His speed is fine, but won’t be able to run by most corners. Sarratt wins mostly because of his size rather than his athleticism.
Projected Draft Range: Second Round Pick-Third Round Pick
Draft Grade: Second Round Pick
