San Antonio Spurs Wins Against the Chicago Bulls

Publish Date: March 31, 2026

The San Antonio Spurs delivered a commanding 129–114 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Monday night, delivering 41 points and 16 rebounds as San Antonio used a dominant second-quarter run and control of the glass to secure its ninth straight win.

SAN ANTONIO  Victor Wembanyama delivered another dominant performance with 41 points and 16 rebounds, leading the San Antonio Spurs to a 129–114 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Monday night.

San Antonio used a decisive second-quarter surge to take control and never looked back, winning its ninth straight game while continuing to build momentum late in the regular season.

Wembanyama was the centerpiece throughout, scoring efficiently inside and out while anchoring the Spurs’ defense. The 7-foot-4 star altered shots at the rim and controlled the glass, helping San Antonio dominate the rebounding battle and limit Chicago’s second-chance opportunities.

The game was competitive early, with both teams trading baskets through much of the first quarter. Chicago found offense from multiple contributors, including Tre Jones, who led the Bulls with 23 points, and Collin Sexton, who added 20. But the Spurs gradually seized momentum behind their defense and transition scoring.

San Antonio broke the game open late in the second quarter with a 23–7 run that turned a narrow contest into a double-digit lead. Wembanyama scored repeatedly during the stretch, while the Spurs’ defense forced turnovers and contested nearly every Bulls attempt in the paint.

By halftime, the Spurs had built a 64–47 advantage, fueled in large part by their dominance on the boards. San Antonio finished the game with a sizable rebounding edge, repeatedly generating extra possessions and limiting Chicago’s ability to sustain any offensive rhythm.

“We just tried to stay aggressive and play our game,” Wembanyama said. “When we defend and rebound like that, it makes everything easier.”

The Spurs continued to pull away in the third quarter, pushing their lead past 20 points as their balanced offense kept the pressure on. Stephon Castle flirted with a triple-double, contributing across the board with scoring, playmaking and rebounding. Several other Spurs players reached double figures, underscoring the team’s depth and unselfish style.

Chicago showed brief signs of life in the second half, putting together a short run to cut into the deficit. But each time the Bulls threatened, San Antonio responded quickly often with a key basket or defensive stop sparked by Wembanyama’s presence.

The Bulls struggled to contain San Antonio in the paint, where the Spurs consistently found high-percentage looks. Chicago also had difficulty securing rebounds, allowing the Spurs to capitalize on second-chance opportunities throughout the night.

“We’ve got to be better inside,” a Bulls coach said. “They hurt us on the glass and in the paint, and that’s tough to overcome.”

Despite the loss, Chicago had several bright spots. Leonard Miller added 21 points, while Guerschon Yabusele and Matas Buzelis each contributed in double figures. However, the team’s inability to string together stops ultimately proved costly.

San Antonio’s defense was a key factor in the outcome, as it disrupted Chicago’s offensive flow and forced difficult shots late in the shot clock. The Spurs also pushed the tempo effectively, turning defensive rebounds into transition opportunities that further widened the gap.

The crowd at the Frost Bank Center grew increasingly energized as the Spurs extended their lead, particularly during Wembanyama’s highlight plays. By the fourth quarter, the atmosphere had shifted into a celebratory tone as the home team cruised to victory.

With the win, the Spurs continued their surge up the standings, showcasing the kind of form that could make them a dangerous opponent in the postseason. Their combination of star power, depth and defensive intensity has been a defining feature during their current winning streak.

“We’re playing with confidence right now,” a Spurs player said. “Everyone is contributing, and we’re trusting each other.”

Chicago, meanwhile, will look to regroup after another difficult outing. The Bulls have struggled with consistency, particularly against teams with strong interior presence, and will need to address those issues moving forward.

For one night, however, the spotlight belonged to Wembanyama and the Spurs, who once again demonstrated why they are among the league’s hottest teams as the regular season winds down.
