The official NBA 2k26 Release Date will be on September 5, 2025.
That being said, you can get 7-Day Early Access by pre-ordering the NBA 2k26 Superstar Edition or Leave No Doubt Edition. This means that you would be able to play the game on August 29, 2025. For many who want to get a head start or who were going to buy for the extra rewards anyways, this is very much worth it.

It looks very unlikely that NBA 2k26 will be on Xbox Game Pass.
Unlock the games made by EA, 2k games are not pushed out to Xbox Game Pass. There is a chance that could change in the future without a doubt. It is unlikely to happen anytime soon and it would be a major surprise to see the game get a Day-1 release at this point.
