Hangzhou Part Ways With DPS Veteran GodsB

Publish Date: June 22, 2021

Late Monday night the Hangzhou Spark announced the departure of hitscan DPS specialist Kyeong-bo “GodsB” Kim. Hangzhou revealed the release on social media while publishing multiple tweets thanking GodsB for his contributions to the team.

Today we part ways with DPS player Kim “@GodsB_OW” Kyeong-bo as he enters free agency.

GodsB has been a mainstay on the Spark roster for the past two and half years. He joined the team alongside Jun-ki “Bazzi” Park as the team were gradually announcing their inaugural roster. The Korean DPS player was one of the mainstays in the Spark’s lineup that was further bolstered by the introduction of his former X6-Gaming teammate Minho “Architect” Park last season. They were seen as the potential future for Hangzhou in the DPS department.

Unfortunate Circumstances

But for many, this move can be seen as a result of fellow DPS player Zheng “Shy” Yangjie’s recent play. As the rookie has taken over as the team’s main Damage carry that has–unfortunately–left GodsB with less than ideal playing time this season. On top of Shy’s quick adjustments to Architect’s style, and Shy and Architect have become a more potent duo than the Spark have ever produced beforehand. GodsB has no choice but to play the market if he wants to play more often this season.

Following the initial announcement of his release, the Spark also posted a farewell video and a special AMA answering some fan topics. As well, GodsB has decided to keep his old jerseys and signature pink Razer Kraken headset at the Spark facility, which will be on display at the front entrance.
