The Super Smash Brothers “killer” is at it again with a second installment being announced. Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 has officially been revealed after the original game came out just under two years ago. Many believe this is a chance for the enticing series to get a needed new coat of paint and some necessary polish. Could this finally be the game that pushed Smash Bros players to have to make a decision? Regardless, fans will be wanting to know more about the game. This game was announced with a new trailer showing off some major upgrades to the game and two new confirmed characters. For many who enjoyed the game but struggled with it feeling incomplete, the second installment looks like it might be an attempt at true redemption. There is no doubt that many love these characters and the gameplay but the initial launch felt empty and unfinished.
Many people felt like this could finally be a game that could make Super Smash Brothers players have to think or even make a decision. The fighting mechanics in the game were solid and the cast of characters were strong. Unfortunately, the game, while good for high-tier players, was a bit bland for casuals.
That is why it is smart that instead of rolling out more DLC, they committed to a second game. This will allow them to take their time and make all the much-needed additions that players have been hoping for. If done right, this game could rise in the marketplace due to the fact that there is not another Super Smash Brothers on the horizon. That should give it plenty of runway without distractions, depending on the release date.
The original game came out on October 6, 2021 which is a little less than two years before the announcement of this second game. Keeping that in mind, the game while getting a new fresh coat of paint, shouldn’t need too much more than that as the engine is seemingly staying the same. So the Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 Release Date should be sometime in quarter four of 2023, presumably in October around the same release date as its predecessor.
