As most live service games get deeper into crossovers, Apex Legends has generally kept to itself. While it has had some additions to the game, they have yet to have a hallmark crossover. That looks to have changed. At The Game Awards, an Apex Legends and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Crossover was Revealed.

The Apex Legends and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Crossover comes completely out of left field but is certainly a welcome surprise. With Final Fantasy VII Rebirth coming out soon and a new season of Apex Legends also releasing in early 2024, it makes sense for them to try and align.
So far it looks as if a few Apex Legends characters will have skins from the game. Wraith, Crypto and maybe Horizon are getting major character skins like Cloud and Aerith.
Along with this, it looks like Cloud’s Sword, the Buster Sword, will be in the game as well. With this will come the question, can it be used in game? If so this would be the first time that Apex Legends would be adding an outside weapon. Fortnite has been doing it for quite some time so this addition wouldn’t be a major shock.
The Apex Legends and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Release Date will be with Apex Legends Season 20 on January 9, 2024.

This would end up being one of the biggest Seasons in Apex Legend’s history. There are rumors of a new map coming out along with a new Legend. The addition of a new game mode or even a weapon from an outside game would be massive for Apex Legends and its fans.
It seems like we will have to wait a bit longer for confirmation on what all is coming with this but expect more from EA and Respawn soon.
